Introduction

I started diving in 1991, getting my Open Water Certification while visiting the beautiful Watamu Bay in Kenia. A busy work life limited my diving for many years to some holidays. Then my diving trips took me to Egypt, the Cook Islands, and the Great Barrier Reef. Now, free from work obligations, I've returned to my earlier loves of nature photography and diving. I am a member of three Sydney-based diving clubs: the Underwater Research Group of New South Wales (URG), Saint George Scuba Diving Club (SGSDC), and Gordons Bay Scuba Diving Club (GBSDC). You will find me diving with SGSDC most weeks. SGSDC has more than 50 years of diving history and is the most inclusive and active club that I know. It has greatly improved my diving abilities and my thirst for knowledge about our maritime environment. My first diving trip after becoming Emeritus was to the remote Tubbataha Reef, in the Philippines (2024), followed by Raja Ampat, Indonesia (2025), and Halmahera, Indonesia (2026). On these trips, I did videography, which I also enjoy. But it was only on my recent trip to the Lembeh Strait, Indonesia, when my love for macrophotography reignated. The following pages will connect to my Lightroom collection in an effort to cataloge and learn about the creatures I encountered. While this site is for my own use and thus under permanent construction, everyone is welcome.
